Robert E. Allen is a highly accomplished, results-focused intellectual property lawyer with significant experience in both litigation and transactions involving copyright, especially in entertainment and new media related fields.
Immediately prior to joining Pierce Bainbridge Beck Price & Hecht LLP, Robert practiced at McKool Smith P.C., focusing on intellectual property and entertainment-related disputes in both state and federal court. Before that, Robert had his own firm and was the senior vice president, head of business and legal affairs for Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG), the then-largest music publisher in the world, where he was also head of the New Media Business Development, charged with setting the direction and execution of cutting edge digital and internet exploitation strategies. Robert was at UMPG for almost fourteen years; prior to UMPG, he was the second in command of the business and legal affairs department of the PolyGram Music Publishing Group, where he provided negotiation and legal support for its executive team.
